Site is Now in Private Beta; Sign Up for Early Access
NEW YORK, March 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GameSetCash.com, a new
online platform that allows sports video game players to compete
against one another for cash, today announced that it is accepting
signups to its private beta, in anticipation of a full public launch in
April. The site enables its users to connect with evenly skilled
opponents through an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Additional
features include the ability to invite friends to private tournaments
through Facebook Connect and Twitter, the automatic verification of
game results, and the secure transfer of funds between player accounts.
This isn't about professional gaming, it's about fun -- it's time for
everyday Xbox360(R) and PlayStation(R)3 sports gamers to challenge
their loudmouth friends for some cash!
"We are building a secure community intended for gamers who love sports
titles and the thrill of competition," said Keith Swan, co-founder and
Business Director at GameSetCash. "This site is not for
'cyber-athletes' out to get rich. Rather, GameSetCash provides gamers a
way to enjoy some friendly competition, stay connected, and, hopefully,
win some money in the process. The concept is similar to fantasy sports
leagues, where people who trust each other gather to compete and have
some low-stakes fun."
New users can sign up at www.gamesetcash.com in seconds via Facebook
Connect. Profiles are verified for age and linked to a PayPal account,
at which point players immediately can begin competing against other
online opponents for money. The cash-play portion of the site has a
minimum bet of $1, however, new users looking to acclimate themselves
can play on the free-play portion of the site for points and prizes.
Players can connect with their friends and "friends of friends" via the
intuitive interface and schedule games to begin at their convenience.
The site also lets players talk trash via built-in chat features. And
for those looking to publicize their victories, integration with social
networking communities allows users to post results instantaneously to
their Facebook and Twitter feeds.
"Putting a little bit of money on the line simply makes playing sports
video games more exciting," said GameSetCash co-founder and Creative
Director Ryan DeSanto. "We are creating a fun, secure online
environment where gamers can make friendly bets on all their favorite
sports games they play, safely and legally."
Security on the site is paramount. Online interaction between players
is closely overseen at all times by full-time community managers, and
proprietary statistical software monitors play patterns for
irregularities. Users can have only one cash account, and early games
have a maximum bet of $5. Details of every member's play history are
viewable with one click.
Sign up now at www.gamesetcash.com to be among the first to try the
service while it's in private beta. The public beta will open in March,
with a full launch in April.
