Acer to Open Asplex Spare Parts Distribution Center in Poland

Acer announced that it will open a distribution center in Wrocław, Poland under the name of Asplex to provide spare parts distribution and light manufacturing services covering the EMEA region.
An integral part of Acer Customer Care strategy developed in order to strengthen the company relationship with clients, the aim of the new distribution center is to contribute to the development a Customer Relationship Management at EMEA level.
The company said one of the reasons for this investment is its recent growth in market share in Central and Eastern European countries. Acer's total investment is estimated at over 3 million Euro. Besides, due to its geographical location in Lower Silesia Region, the new center will provide a better customer service, adequate to Acer qualitative standards, to the whole EMEA region.
"The new facility will give Acer the scale it needs to cover more effectively the whole of the EMEA region with our operation." said Mario Fazio, Director of Customer Service of Acer Group, "This is a clear indication of the thorough attention we put in widening our services and serve the increasing needs of fast developing Eastern European markets. An improved customer service combined with advanced technological products, will allow Acer to offer solutions able to meet the real needs of our clients."
The project represents a considerable investment both in terms of structure and staff. An area of 20,000 square meters, leased from ProLogis, a provider of distribution facilities, will be staffed by over 200 employees, most of them to be hired by the end of November 2009. The new distribution center will be fully operational by the end of 2009, while light manufacturing is planned to start in the second quarter of 2010.

"This important customer will benefit from the facility's location, which is positioned just 2 km from Wroclaw, in the Kobierzyce District, and with excellent access to several large motorways within Poland. We believe that this location will suit the needs of Acer perfectly."
