Alcatel-Lucent Names Subhash Bana as Vice President R&D for India

Alcatel-Lucent has named Subhash Bana as Vice President of its R&D operations in India, reporting to Vivek Mohan, managing director of Alcatel-Lucent India.
In his new role, Subhash will be responsible for driving excellence in engineering performance across the carrier and applications software activities, including best-in-class R&D service delivery, quality and innovation enhancing support to the Indian customers.
Subhash will also liaise with the business divisions to develop and execute products and solutions for emerging markets.
"I'm confident that under Subhash's drive, R&D will play a key role in consolidating Alcatel-Lucent's leadership position in India. His research experience and knowledge of the industry will be a significant asset to the company," said Vivek Mohan, managing director of Alcatel-Lucent India.
Subhash comes with over 24 years of experience in the defense, telecom, media and entertainment markets. Prior to this appointment, he was vice president of Thomson's operations in India and Sri Lanka.
Before joining Thomson in 2007, Subhash had worked with Alcatel-Lucent in various capacities for 14 years. His last assignment with Alcatel-Lucent was as managing director of Alcatel Development India, where he spearheaded the growth of India R&D from a small competence center to a large world-class software R&D organization.
Subhash holds a graduate degree from National Institute of Technology, Warangal and is a Post Graduate in Management from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon.
