Second Java Mobile Phone Game is the First to be Distributed
Through Company Portal
GUANGZHOU, China, Oct. 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Amico Games Corp.
(OTCBB:AMCG), an interactive entertainment media company specializing
in developing some of China's most popular massively multi-player
online role-playing games (MMORPGs) for mobile phones, today announced
the launch of its second Java game, "Journey to the West: deja vu", the
third installment of its popular "Journey to the West" series. Based on
the famous Chinese novel, Journey to the West, the game series
introduces many sites, scenes and roles from this classic book set
during the Tang Dynasty.
The series began in 2006 with the launch of the Company's first game,
"Miracle Journey to the West". With over 17 million registered users,
this WAP platform game is the Company's most popular and was recognized
as one of the top 3 most profitable mobile phone games in China.
The second installment of the series was "Journey to the West OL".
Launched in May 2009, the Company's first Java game rose to the number
one ranking on China's largest game platform.
Commenting on the launch of the Company's second Java game, CEO Peter
Liu stated that, "'Journey to the West: deja vu' has more powerful
engines, content and enhanced graphics than our first Java game. Not
only is this the launch of our most sophisticated game, we hope to
increase our brand awareness through our extension strategy for the
'Journey to the West' series."
"We are very proud of the progress of our game development team, which
has us on schedule to launch the fourth installment of our 'Journey to
the West' series during the first quarter of 2011. We are looking
forward to introducing even higher quality visual effects, including 3D
graphics to our loyal users early next year," continued Liu.
Mr. Liu also stated that, "the launch of our enhanced Java games was
scheduled to capitalize on the activation of our game distribution
portal E-Ge-Ge, which will allow us to capture 90% of our in-game
revenues by minimizing our reliance on third party distributors, who
can consume up to 70% of our games' revenue from our end users."
"Our game distribution portal is an integral part of our plan to expand
into game operations before we initiate the third phase of our
corporate development strategy to build our own online social gaming
community," said Liu.
