AudioCodes and MailVision Deploy High Definition VoIP (HD
VoIP) Enabled Mobile SIP Client (VMAS) for Mobile Phones and
Distribution Client Management Servers for Brazilian CLEC
AudioCodes (Nasdaq:AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP)
technologies and Voice Network products, in collaboration with
MailVision, a provider of SIP Mobile Platforms for Wireless and NGN
Service Providers, today announced that Nexus Telecom, a Brazilian CLEC
and VoIP operator, has selected AudioCodes' VoIP Mobile Access
Solutions (VMAS) technology to support the deployment of new mobile SIP
applications, targeting millions of subscribers both internal and
external to Brazil.
The VMAS platform and client enable Nexus Telecom to provide services
for its business, residential and roaming subscribers who are now able
to initiate voice calls and send text messages (SMS) over any WiFi or
3G data connection, using a variety of mobile smart phones in HD VoIP
quality and at highly cost-effective rates. The Mobile SIP Client is
interoperable with all major SIP Softswitches and Gateways.
"We are pleased that Nexus Telecom Brazil selected the HD VoIP enabled
SIP Mobile Client (VMAS) as a new service offering for their subscriber
base," stated Lior Aldema, Chief Operating Officer at AudioCodes. "This
advanced technology will enable the Brazilian CLEC to offer
cost-effective rates, and enhanced voice clarity. Nexus Telecom, like
many other VoIP operators, will now have the ability to retain the
loyalty of their subscribers and win new customers by allowing them to
enjoy a continuous 'Single Number' service when at home, 'on-the-go' or
in the office."
"It is important that we adopt advanced communications solutions in
order to benefit our customers and offer them innovative services,"
stated Antonio Moraes, Director of Technology at Nexus Telecom. "This
service is intended to enable our business and residential customers to
make phone calls with WiFi and 3G supported devices cost-effectively.
We searched for a field-proven VoIP solution that would enable us to
expand our services in Brazil in a cost-effective manner, without
compromising quality of service. The AudioCodes solution satisfies all
of our technical requirements and allows us to provide our customers
with the highest levels of service."
