BIO-key International Biometric ePassport Improves Security & Efficiency at Airport
GlobeNewswire

           Indonesia's First Immigration ePassport Gate

WALL, N.J., Jan. 31, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BIO-key International,
Inc. (OTCBB:BKYI.OB), a global leader in fingerprint biometric
identification solutions and advanced mobile identification technology,
today reported that the company has successfully partnered with Oakwell
Engineering Limited, to provide Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport,
located in Indonesia, with the countries first biometric immigration
gate; developed to streamline passenger security.

With the new implementation of the new biometric gate solution provided
by Oakwell and BIO-key, passengers can quickly and securely transition
through the immigration process by submitting their electronic passport
and offering a fingerprint as authentication. The new electronic system
allows electronic passport holders to bypass what is often a lengthy
line at the traditional immigration counter.

"This is a step forward. With these auto gates protected by biometric
technology, Soekarno-Hatta has made itself an international airport
with sophisticated technologies," stated Maryoto Sumadi, spokesperson
for the immigration office.

"Since 9/11 airport security has experienced many significant changes.
Unfortunately most of the changes have contributed to inefficiencies
for the traveler. Long lines in security, multiple ID checkpoints and
other new security measures, instituted since 9/11, have all attributed
to a less enjoyable experience for passengers, said Mike DePasquale
CEO, BIO-key International, Inc. By incorporating BIO-key technology as
part of the screening process the airport is seeing immediate
improvements in efficiency and equally passengers are appreciating the
intelligent use of advanced biometric technology," added DePasquale.

There are over 49,000 airports in the world and over 14,000 in the
United States.
