BT has named Shiva Singh as managing director for its Southeast Asia operations, based in Singapore, effective immediately.
In his new role, Shiva will oversee all sales and operations, as well as the delivery of the BT strategy, and promote BT's presence and services in the region, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Shiva will also manage relationships with in-country partners and hold responsibility for customer satisfaction at all levels.
Allen Ma, president, BT Asia Pacific, said, "Shiva's addition to the senior management team of BT in Asia Pacific is another step on our road to being the leading networked IT services company in the region. He has a wealth of experience in sales and operations in the Southeast Asia region, as well as within the U.S. and extensively in Europe. This adds substantially to our capabilities, particularly at this time as we increase our investment in the network and networked IT services."
Shiva comes to BT from Motorola, where he held various leadership and business development positions for the past 11 years. Since 2003, he was general manager for Motorola's Singapore and Bangladesh networks operations, plus regional director for Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives, an experience that stands him in good stead for his new role at BT. He was also the general manager for Indonesia and held various business development roles in India.
Before joining Motorola, Shiva was based in France for five years working with International Data Group and other operations. Prior to that, he worked in the U.S. for 10 years with IBM, Reed Exhibition Companies, and other IT, consulting and research companies in Washington, DC.
