Dresden, Germany, March 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Dresden elektronik used the venue of Embedded World (01.-03.03.2011) in Nuremberg, Germany to introduce a number of new development tools and kits for low power wireless applications. The new development kits are based on the versatile development boards deRFnode and deRFgateway and offer out-of-the-box network solutions for 6LoWPAN and ZigBee.
With the comfortable test and development environment the user can easily and quickly activate and test even single hardware components and also integrate own applications. Matching development kits for the new radio modules deRFarm7 with the powerful ARM7 microcontroller (for 2.4 GHZ) and for the compact USB radio sticks deRFusb with Cortex-M3 architecture (for Sub- and 2.4 GHz) will be available by April.
The kits deliver a complete implementation of the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC stack, a software frame that enables the straightforward development of own network applications. They contain many example applications that cover the typical 802.15.4 features from simple point-to-point connections to network applications with routing and beacon.
The majority of the new development kits come with a USB radio stick including a 30-day test license for Peryton's professional network and protocol analyzer software. With this license the user is able to examine network structures, data flow and runtime performance. The detailed information about the applied protocols help to achieve an optimal network configuration. Within the 30 day trial the software is usable to the full extent. Alternatively the USB radio stick can be reprogrammed to a network coordinator or any other application.
The new development kits from dresden elektronik give the user a complete development environment, equipped with everything that is needed to build 6LoWPAN, ZigBee- and proprietary IEEE 802.15.4 applications or to integrate single components in own applications.
The following development kits will be available by April:
deRFdevelopmentKit 6LoWPAN (2.4 GHz)
deRFdevelopmentKit ZigBee (2.4 GHz)
deRFdevelopmentKit ARM7 (2.4 GHz)
deRFdevelopmentKit USB (Sub-GHz and 2.4 GHz)
