EMC Names Subroto Das as Chief Operating Officer - India & SARCC

EMC India has named Subroto Das as Chief Operating Officer, EMC India and SARCC region. Subroto will be responsible for driving sales in the region and will work towards maximizing productivity and coverage across Enterprise and Commercial markets in India and SARCC region.
Subroto will report to Manoj Chugh, President, EMC India and SAARC.
EMC said this announcement closely follows its fresh investments to the tune of $1.5 billion in September 2009, taking its total commitment to the country to $2 billion. The investment will help EMC drive deeper levels of engagement and support for its customers and partners.
"EMC has been focused on developing and leading the market in India. With the market offering new growth opportunities, we are investing to bring in strong leadership to engage strategically with our customers," said Manoj Chugh.
"Subroto brings with him a wealth of experience by virtue of his long-standing association and in-depth understanding of the Information Infrastructure market. He will lead EMC's sales team to realize the high growth potential of the enterprise and commercial markets in India," added Chugh.
Subroto joins EMC from HP, where he was Director, Enterprise Storage Business, Asia Pacific and Australia. Prior to HP, Subroto held senior sales positions at companies including Cisco Systems Inc. and Wipro Infotech.
Subroto brings with him over 19 years of IT experience. His experience and focus has been on people and strategic sales management, and implementing best practices across various interdependent groups within an organization.
