ESS to Strengthen its Activities in Overseas Markets

Eastern Software Systems Pvt. Ltd. (ESS), a provider of IT products and services in India, announced that it is aggressively strengthening its activities in overseas markets including Eastern and Western Africa, South Africa, China and Latin America so as to reach out to a wider audience in these geographical regions and showcase its capabilities.

ESS said it has been able to make its presence felt overseas because of its indigenously developed flagship product - eBizFrame, a leading ERP solution in the Indian mid-market space. ESS has successfully implemented eBizFrame for clients in more than 15 verticals in 25 countries and 6 different languages.

ESS said it is taking aggressive marketing initiatives and rapid expansion in every part of Africa. The company has a good presence in the Economic hub (Eastern Africa) which includes Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. In Western Africa, ESS has a notable presence in Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia and Botswana. ESS also has won prominent contracts from customers in South Africa and plans to aggressively market its products and services in the region.

ESS' Business Partner for Kenya and Tanzania, Compulynx Ltd., has been selected by KPMG Kenya as amongst the KPMG Top-100 Mid-Sized Companies recently. Compulynx has been instrumental in assisting ESS win many a prestigious contract in the region.

Apart from the prominent African markets, ESS is also expanding towards French speaking countries in Africa, which includes Ivory Coast and Congo. In Latin America, ESS has a good presence in Mexico, Columbia and Bolivia, and is also expanding its marketing activities in China.

ESS is actively participating in various technology conventions across Africa to showcase its products and services to its target audience. The company recently participated in a three-day International Supply Chain Convention organized by GS 1 Kenya. ESS conducted a one-day ERP Workshop for the benefit of the delegates, which received excellent response from the participants. The convention featured several speakers and delegates from U.K., New Zealand and many countries in Africa.

ESS also participated in the 21st Century Business Trade fair organized by the Oshwal Youth League, Kenya. The Oshwal community controls the major businesses across East Africa and conducts this annual event. More than 50 large and medium enterprises participated in the event.

ESS said its strong presence in the African market is accentuated by the fact that it has recently been awarded multiple contracts from various government agencies in Africa to deploy ERP solutions and also for customized Web applications.

ESS recently won an ERP implementation contract from The Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), a Ghana Government Agency, a large e-Governance contract from the Road Fund Administration (RFA), a Government Agency from Namibia. ESS also won a contract from Al Faisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to implement its flagship ERP product, eBizFrame, for comprehensive automation of the University's organizational functions

Apart from its flagship product, eBizFrame, ESS said it has exceptionally strong capabilities in developing Web portals, customized Web applications and e-commerce sites leveraging the newest Web technologies and concepts like Web 2.0.

ESS recently won a contract to design, develop and implement the official Web site and an intranet portal for the Directorate of Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC), an operationally autonomous law enforcement agency of Botswana. ESS also won another contract from South Africa based FM Media to develop a social networking site named Flavafrika on the lines of Facebook, Orkut and MySpace.
