Everyme Challenges All Social Networks With New Privacy Policy
GlobeNewswire
2012-06-07

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Everyme, the
private social network which focuses on allowing you to share content
with your closest friends and family in intimate-sized Circles, today
announced a new industry leading privacy policy. The new policy
highlights Everyme's focus on its users' privacy in a concise,
user-friendly document.

"Everyme distinguishes itself from all other social networking services
by offering the highest level of privacy, from owning your own data, to
no public sharing, to never sharing your information with advertisers
or third parties," said Oliver Cameron, CEO and Founder of Everyme. "We
decided it was critical to provide a privacy policy that clearly
articulates these Everyme differences and we challenge all social media
apps to follow our lead in protecting the privacy of their users."

According to a blog posted on Everyme.com, the new privacy policy is
just 850 words, one-third the average length of a Privacy Policy. Here
are the highlights:

You own your data. Period. And you can have it whenever you want it,
including all original photos and stories that you or others in your
Circles posted, by using the export functionality at any time,
available in our mobile apps. You can delete your account and all of
your information at any time, easily, at which point we email you a
copy of your data; we're just returning what's lawfully yours.

None of the content you share in your private Circles is public nor
will it ever be. We've gone to great lengths to ensure we respect your
reputation with your friends as well. We never send emails or texts to
your friends without you explicitly doing so -- emails are always on
your behalf, and not ours.

We do not sell your data to advertisers or any third parties under any
condition. We don't make any tools that let advertisers access or sell
ads on your data. We don't track you. The only stats we track are
aggregated usage data across the site, and we only use this information
for our own purposes. It's never shared.

Other people can't see stuff you don't want them to see. Phone numbers
and emails you put in the app are neither sold to anyone nor visible to
any other users but you.

In the event of a change of ownership at Everyme, the new owner must
abide by our Privacy Policy, not theirs. If we are forced to shut down,
since you own your data, you will get it back and we make that promise
to you.

We don't allow you to access our site from a non-secure connection.

If we ever make changes to our policy, you can easily see exactly
what's changed on our Github page. Git is software built specifically
for tracking changes.
