Four Soft Achieves CMMI level 3 Certification

Four Soft Ltd (4S), a provider of software solutions for transportation and logistics, announced that it has been appraised as fully compliant at Maturity Level 3 with Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI) Version 1.2.

The Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI A) was conducted for the Project Management, Engineering and Support functions at Four Soft at its headquarters. The appraisal was conducted by Cyber Q, a SEI Partner, and the results were announced after the SEI completed its audit processes.

The company said this achievement corresponds to a "defined" level of maturity, where processes are described and applied by the whole organization and clearly indicates a high level of process maturity achieved by the global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions. This further demonstrates Four Soft's ability and its ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality of products and services to its customers worldwide.

The successful CMMI appraisal indicates that the processes which are being followed to develop Four Soft products are not only just managed, but also well defined. Certification of CMMI Level 3 indicates that the software processes for both management and engineering activities are standardized and well documented. It further helps the company to promote and achieve the Product cost, Schedule, Functionality and Quality as its goals with a view to providing its customers with a never ending satisfaction.

CMMI is becoming the reference for assessing the maturity of a company's processes, by comparing their level with the sector average. CMMI is also useful for planning improvements to a company's applications and systems processes.
