     The Sky Edge II Network Will be Used to Bring High-Speed
     Internet Services to Schools Through a Government Funded
                            Initiative

PETAH TIKVA, Israel, Sept. 19, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gilat Satellite
Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq:GILT) today announced that it has signed an
agreement with a leading Latin American government agency for the
delivery of over 1,800 SkyEdge II VSATs to facilitate broadband
Internet connectivity in schools.

The agreement is part of a nationwide, government sponsored initiative
to connect thousands of schools across the country to the Internet over
the next three years. The network is expected to be used predominantly
to support school connectivity across the country's main urban regions
and may be extended as part of the nationwide program.
