Global Geophysical Services, Inc. (NYSE:GGS) announces the signing of a
major contract with Petra Energia S.A for an onshore seismic data
acquisition project in the Sao Francisco Basin of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

This is Global's first program in the growing Brazilian seismic market
and represents one of the largest land programs being undertaken in the
country. Petra Energia S.A., a major holder of exploration blocks in
Brazil, is commencing a 6000kms data program which includes an option
for an additional 3000 kms.

Global will be introducing state-of-the-art Vibroseis technology in
Brazil after an absence of more than ten years. Global Geophysical
Country Manager George Yapuncich said, "Global is continuing its record
of cost-effective data acquisition using the best practices available
in the industry. After such a long absence, it is exciting to be
bringing Vibroseis technology back to Brazil." Global intends to expand
its Brazilian data acquisition services capabilities with data
processing and reservoir analysis services and support.

year and in June, appointed George Yapuncich as Country Manager. Mr.
Yapuncich has over 25 years of international exploration experience
including extensive experience in Brazil with seismic land and marine
operations. Prior to Global, he worked for Western Geophysical and
Baker Hughes.
