GovInteract is an Emerging Leader and Patent-Holder in Multi-
Channel Emergency Notifications for the Public Sector
ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GovDelivery announced
today the acquisition of New Jersey-based GovInteract (GovI), an
emerging leader in complete Web solutions, including multi-channel
emergency communication, for the public sector.
The GovI team will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of
GovDelivery under the leadership of GovI Founder and President, John
Carrino. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"GovI brings a talented team, patented Citizen Alert System technology
and a proven track record of delivering value to public sector
organizations," said Scott Burns, CEO and co-Founder of GovDelivery.
"GovDelivery was the first company to bring cloud-based digital
outreach to all levels of government, and this acquisition further
solidifies our leadership position and ability to bring a complete
solution that can deliver tremendous value and substantial savings for
our clients."
"By joining the GovDelivery team, GovI will be able to provide even
more services and resources to our existing clients and build on the
momentum we have already achieved in the public sector. The merging of
these teams and capabilities will augment our respective services and
products nicely and allow for even more reach than ever before. We're
very excited about the opportunities and possibilities presented by
being part of GovDelivery," said John Carrino, President and Founder of
GovInteract.
The acquisition of GovI provides GovDelivery access to key voice,
multi-channel alerting functionality that will be incorporated into the
industry-leading GovDelivery Digital Communication Management solution,
which is currently used by government to send over 20 million email,
SMS and social media messages daily. This integration will streamline
processes and reduce costs by allowing government organizations to
manage all digital communications through a single provider.
Many GovDelivery clients, such as the Federal Emergency Management
Administration and the Centers for Disease Control, already rely on
GovDelivery Digital Communication Management for emergency preparedness
and response communication. With the acquisition of GovI, GovDelivery
clients will now be able to use GovDelivery for voice notification and
ReverseDial, a capability that allows public sector organizations to
reach and alert both listed and unlisted phone numbers in a geographic
area for urgent or emergency notifications. GovDelivery is offering
voice and ReverseDial services to current GovDelivery customers
effective immediately.
