HCL Acquires 60 Percent Stake in Dubai-Based NTS Group

HCL Infosystems Ltd. announced that it has acquired a 60% stake in NTS Group, an IT services and solutions company, based in Dubai. NTS’ offering ranges from IT hardware to software services and consulting, and the company has partnered with leading enterprises in the region building customized solutions for a host of business needs.
Specific areas covered by NTS include computer hardware, enterprise software solutions, infrastructure and networking solutions, e-security solutions and Web development services.
With the addition of NTS, HCL said it will now expand its global footprint in the Middle East and African market with direct operations to address the system integration and services need in these regions.
Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO, HCL Infosystems, said, "Today we open a new chapter unfolding in HCL Infosystems’ history as we strengthen our global presence with the addition of Middle East. This acquisition will see NTS’ customer relationships across the Middle East get access to the HCL Infosystems three decades of expertise in the space."
"The completion of this acquisition represents a significant step for HCL Infosystems in our transformation strategy to accelerate growth in our targeted international markets, offering a complete set of products, service and solutions," added Chowdhry.
Together, HCL Infosystems and NTS will now further focus on building business with NTS becoming a beachhead to cater to the Middle East and African Market. The existing client relationships across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar will now have access to HCL Infosystems bouquet of specialized IT products and solutions.
HCL Infosystems said it will be augmenting existing NTS Dubai business with its system integration, product, services and solutions portfolio to create larger business for the company.
Set up in 2004, NTS has four offices in the United Arab Emirates that are staffed with over 100 technology and support specialists.
