HCL Reports Q2 Revenues of Rs. 2490.8 Cr, Up 37.1 Pct

HCL Technologies has reported revenues of Rs. 2490.8 crores for the second quarter of its financial year 2008-09, an increase of 37.1% from the same period a year ago and up 5.1% from the first quarter. Net income was at Rs. 373.3 crores, up 12.1% from last year and 4.8% sequentially.
For the first half of its financial year 2008-09, HCL reported revenues of Rs. 4860.2 crores, up 37.8% from last year. Net income stood at Rs. 729.4 crores, up 13.7% from the same period a year ago.
During the first half of its financial year, HCL added 9,532 (net 2,216) employees taking headcount to 52,957, with 3,935 (net 243) employees joining in the second quarter.
HCL said its strong client relationships, enhanced service offerings and continued investments for the future have enabled the company to respond well to changing market dynamics.
