HP and The National Basketball Association (NBA) have announced that NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband International, a subscription service offering fans in 75 countries access to a complete season of live NBA game webcasts on NBA.com, is now available in India as a free preview for the remainder of the regular season until April 15.
HP, the NBA's global partner in technology innovation, is the presenting partner of NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband in India.
"Our relationship with the NBA allows HP to extend its reach to key audiences while demonstrating our leadership in technology innovation," said Bina Raj-Debur, Director, Corporate Marketing, HP India. "This year in India, HP is actively involved in programs like NBA League Pass Broadband, NBA Cares and other on-ground activation programs."
"We hope basketball fans in India enjoy watching the games online using the League Pass Broadband, which is a world-class video service. As we go forward, we will bring more innovative programs and products to Indian consumers through the HP-NBA association," added Raj-Debur.
Fans in India can visit NBA.tv to gain access to the free preview of NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband International and follow their favorite teams as they contend in the highly competitive NBA Playoff race. A subscription package will be made available for the 2009 NBA Playoffs, which are scheduled to tip off on April 18.
NBA games and programming this season are already televised in 215 countries and territories in 41 languages, and the live game Webcasts will add to this global audience.
HP and the NBA had announced a multi-year marketing partnership last October that includes the development of joint technology initiatives to enhance the overall game experience for basketball fans. The agreement is among the NBA's most comprehensive marketing partnerships and encompasses all three of its leagues - the NBA, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League).
HP is also partnering with the NBA to upgrade a basketball court and provide equipment at the Nagpada Neighborhood House in Mumbai. A court dedication ceremony will take place April 8 followed by two days of coaching and youth clinics led by NBA Legend A.C. Green. This is the first of many courts the NBA will develop throughout India as part of its long-term commitment to grow basketball participation and promote healthy, active lifestyles through NBA Cares, the League's social responsibility program.
