Hitachi Data Systems Names Jack Domme CEO, Minoru Kosuge Chairman

Hitachi Data Systems Corp., a unit of Hitachi Ltd. providing services oriented storage solutions, has named Jack Domme as its chief executive officer and Minoru Kosuge as its chairman.
Domme, who was appointed chief operating officer in 2007, succeeds Kosuge who was appointed chief executive officer. The new executive appointments are effective April 1, 2009.

Domme first joined Hitachi Data Systems in 2003 and has held a number of management positions at the company. Prior to his appointment as chief operating officer, Domme served as executive vice president of Global Solutions Strategy and Development responsible for product design, technical strategies and product management.
Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Domme served as vice president of product and sales engineering at Storage Networks Inc., and was responsible for the company's strategic software planning and development. Domme started his career in IT at HP in 1987, where he led the company's Information Solutions and Services Division, Information Access Solutions Group and Client-Server Product Group.
A 29-year veteran of Hitachi Ltd., Kosuge has held a number of positions in corporate and product strategy, IT management, logistics planning and operations. Prior to his position as chief executive officer, Kosuge was chief operating officer of Hitachi Data Systems. He also served as executive vice president and chief storage architect, collaborating with Hitachi Data Systems Global Sales and Hitachi, Ltd.'s Disk Array Systems Division (RSD). From 2003 to 2005, Kosuge was division president of RSD, where he led his team in developing the pioneering Hitachi Universal Storage Platform.
