ITsAP Recognizes the best software services companies and software products from AP at its 18th Annual Awards and Software Products' Showcase and Conference 2010

March 14, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- ITsAP - The IT and ITES Industry Association of AP - [Formerly HYSEA], has announced its annual awards for the best software services for the year 2008-09 and for innovative software products from various companies from Andhra Pradesh during its two day 18th Annual Software Products' Showcase, Awards and Conference 2010 on 12th and 13th March, 2010 at HICC, Hyderabad.

The Awards for the IT and ITES companies were evaluated by a committee based on last 3 years performance in exports, growth and portfolio mix as reported to STPI Hyderabad and the process audited independently by E&Y. From this year, new awards were introduced for the Best Green IT Company and awards for the Best IT Services Company from Tier 2 cities like Vishakapatnam ,Tirupati, Kakinada and Vijayawada.

There were over 120 nominations received by ITsAP for IT Product awards of which, more than 50% were from start up companies under five categories as follows:

Startups: New emerging software product based companies in Andhra Pradesh with few or no customers to showcase their first version of products: infrastructure, application platform, frameworks, or business solutions.

Social Impact: Software product based companies in Andhra Pradesh to showcase the products that create a social impact and are mainly used by NGOs and government organizations.

Established Indian: Well established software product based companies in Andhra Pradesh to showcase their products.

MNC Products: Software product based MNCs who have their development centers in Andhra Pradesh to demonstrate their products.

Student entrepreneur: Idea/prototypes of products being built by students.

The second day of the event had a panel discussion on Business Eco-system in AP, wherein eminent personalities like Mr. S. Mahalingam, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, TCS, Mr. Bhavish Sood, Principal Analyst, Gartner, Prof Y.V.Rao, Director, NIT, Warangal and Mr. Moorthy Uppaluri, General Manager, Developer & Platform Evangelism, Microsoft had shared their views and helped the audience to enhance their knowledge on the subject. Thereafter, a total of 20 awards in various categories were presented by Mr. S. Mahalingam, Chief financial Officer and Executive Director, TCS. Some of the companies like Infotech Enterprises Ltd., Cognizant, Cambridge Technology Enterprises Ltd, Amazon Development Center (India) Pvt. Ltd. were among the winners out of which Broadridge Financial Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd. was the only company which won two awards under different categories.
