New Web Client and important technological enhancements - the new version of Opix Media City 9.1 (SixOMC 9.1) supports the trend towards enriched web-based applications for Enterprise Media Management

February 3, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- Six Offene Systeme GmbH presents a new version of its Opix Media City 9.1 (SixOMC 9.1) for professional media database management and media production. With the new release Opix Media City 9.1 the company continues its strategy to provide continuously improved web-based collaboration possibilities for digital media production: The new web client allows companies to easily integrate customers and service provides into highly complex production processes.

In particular, SixOMC 9.1 greatly facilitates the production of advertising media whenever several locations and service providers are involved: all picture material as well as information about individual jobs is available via simple web browser. An attractive and modern interface allows users to directly access all the data needed for the production of catalogues, brochures, flyers or any other type of advertising media from anywhere in the world - without the need of specific user training.

The new graphical user interface of the web client benefits from the unique know-how Six Offene Systeme brings to the area of web client design: with just a few key strokes it can easily be adjusted by the SixOMC 9.1 provider to comply with the user's specific corporate design requirements.

"The production of professional media is becoming an increasingly complex and international process. Creating a high degree of transparency for cooperation across company borders and locations is one of the top priorities," explains Ralph Kissner, managing director at Six Offene Systeme GmbH. "With the new release we aim to help our customers increase productivity and strengthen their competitive advantage."

Additionally, some general enhancements have been made to the SyncServer technology. This automated synchronisation process keeps the files at the central database location and a remote location in sync, thus removing a number of sources for errors and facilitating the communication between service providers and end customers.

SixOMC 9.1 furthermore includes enhancements for supporting automated processing of image data in RAW format. Approximately 200 camera formats can now be converted into commonly used image formats for finishing processes and layouting. By adding Solaris 10 for X86 systems to the list of supported platforms Opix Media City is now also available for the cost-efficient X86 hardware with the highly reliable Solaris operating system.

The Opix SixOMC 9.1 update is immediately available for the more than 150 Opix Media City customers world-wide.
