Intex Technologies (India) Ltd. has announced its entry into the low cost computing segment with the launch of the INTEX Silver GB-75501 Desktop. Powered with Intel's Atom processor, the machine is a complete all-purpose PC and an ideal fit for price conscious consumers.

Atom is the smallest processor from Intel with world's smallest transistors; the desktop therefore consumes less power, saves space due to its compact and sleek design and is configured to deliver a value-for-money computing, browsing and multimedia experience.

The INTEX Silver GB- 75501 Desktop comes in two variants - 945 GCLF Intel Chipset, 1 GB Memory, 80 GB/160 GB hard disk, DVD-ROM/DVD-Writer and 17" CRT monitor - priced at Rs. 12,900/- and Rs. 13,500/- respectively.

Intex said that with these configurations and price tags it could easily find a place in rural/semi-urban households, cyber cafes, small and medium enterprises, etc., where there is a need for an economically priced PC with basic features.

Sanjay Kumar, DGM and Head- Intex PC Business Vertical, said, "Intex has always aimed at bridging the digital divide by focusing on B and C towns to increase the low penetration level of computers in rural/semi urban areas across the country. This feature rich product powered with Intel Atom processor is an ideal offering to make computing technology reach masses since it presents the best combination of performance and price."

"It represents yet another step in strengthening our relationship with Intel with whom we have been working closely to bring out products equipped with their latest technology. With our strong and wide pan-India spread of channel partners and service centers, we are hoping for a good response," added Kumar.
