IT News Online Staff
2012-07-03

LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. has enhanced its Optimus family with the launch of the LG Optimus 3D MAX and Optimus L7 smartphones. The company said these lightweight smartphones combine an unmatched viewing experience with incredible performance.

LG said consumers no longer have to restrict themselves to the limited capabilities of an average smartphone, as the newly launched Optimus phones allow them to design their own smart lives.

The LG Optimus 3D MAX promises 3D on the go without glasses. It has a 4.3-inch screen with WVGA resolution and NOVA Display. Specs include a Tri-dual 1.2 GHz OMAP4430 processor (dual core, dual channel and dual memory), 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, two 5 Megapixel cameras, and a 1520mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 2.3, Gingerbread and is 9.6 mm thin.

Soon Kwon, President South West Asia Region and MD LG India, said, "The LG Optimus 3D MAX is a natural and powerful evolution of LG Optimus 3D. Building on the phenomenal success of the original Optimus 3D, we are proud to unveil this ultimate Smartphone. In 2012, we will take LG's leadership in Speed, Screen and Content to a whole new level. With the Optimus 3D MAX, we want to set new standards of quality viewing and powerful performance on mobiles packed in a slim and modern design."

LG has also customized some of the software on the phone to take complete advantage of the glasses-less 3D capability. The 3D Converter takes 2D content of any available media (videos, pictures, games) and converts them to 3D for one's viewing pleasure. A 3D video editor is also included allowing users to edit their video footage in 3D in real-time, and a 3D Hot Key allows them to quickly switch between 2D and 3D views.

With the Optimus 3D MAX, LG said users will be able to push video content via MHL HDMI or wirelessly thanks to DLNA, at resolutions up to 1080p. 3D content shot using the phone can be pushed out to one's TV using either method, provided its 3D ready.

The Optimus L7 is LG's new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running smartphone and belongs to a range of devices with LG's Unique Design Philosophy - 'L-Style'. The L-Style design philosophy is comprised of five aesthetic elements: Modern Square Style for a comfortable grip, Floating mass technology for a slimmer look, Seamless layout for a more intuitive arrangement of keys, Harmonized design contrast utilizing metallic accents and sensuous Slim shape that naturally draws one's attention.

"Design is consistently an important factor for customers when choosing a mobile phone and with L-Style we're going to go back to our roots as a company focused on products that fit into the lifestyle of customers. Building on the success of the LG Smartphones, we are proud to unveil the LG Optimus 3D Max and Optimus L7. Optimus series has been testimony to customers' requirement and latest features makes it an award-winning range," said Kwon.

The LG Optimus L7 has a 4.3-inch display that supports WVGA (480 x 800) pixel resolution and comes with a 5 Megapixel camera with LED Flash at the back and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. With an 8.7 mm slim body, the LG Optimus L7 houses a single-core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor. It comes loaded with 1 GB RAM and offers 4 GB onboard storage. This smartphone also features Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and GPS sensors.
