Logitech International has named Werner Heid as a senior vice president, responsible for worldwide sales and regional marketing. Heid assumes the executive management responsibility for Logitech's retail sales in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, as well as for worldwide sales to OEM customers.
Heid reports directly to Gerald P. Quindlen, Logitech president and chief executive officer.
Heid brings to Logitech a wealth of experience as a senior executive in high-technology companies. He served for five years as the president and chief executive officer of Iomega Corp., the provider of consumer and small-business data-storage solutions.
Before joining Iomega, Heid was the executive vice president of global sales and marketing for InFocus Corp., a supplier of multimedia projection systems for consumers and business. He joined the company when InFocus acquired Proxima Corp., where Heid served as president.
Prior to taking on his leadership role at Proxima, Heid was with HP for twelve years, in both Europe and the U.S. At HP, he led the business definition and the successful global market launch of the company's All-In-One and color copier product businesses.
"I am delighted to have Werner Heid join Logitech to lead our global go-to-market organization," said Gerald Quindlen. "Werner brings an outstanding background to Logitech and a proven track record for achieving growth, focusing on customers and building market share in a variety of businesses, cultures and geographies."
"Heid has a broad understanding of the consumer electronics business and we believe will offer a tremendous contribution to our leadership team," added Quindlen.
