Loop Mobile Names Sandip Basu as Chief Executive Officer

Loop Mobile (India) Ltd. announced that it has named Sandip Basu as the Chief Executive Officer of Loop Mobile and its unit, Loop Telecom Pvt. Ltd.
Sandip joins Loop Mobile from XCEL Telecom Pvt. Ltd., where he was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. At XCEL, Sandip was responsible for building the organization to become one of the top players in the passive infrastructure provider space in India.
Sandip has more than 25 years of management experience. He has worked with the BPL Mobile Group from 1997 to 2005 in various capacities, his last role at the Group being as Executive Director and CEO. He brings along extensive experience in the telecom industry having worked with Fascel Ltd., Bharti Telecom and Apollo Tyres.
A senior management and finance professional, Sandip has displayed successful track record in managing businesses in highly competitive markets. He has been associated with green field projects in telecom having had in depth exposure in both the strategic and operations side of the business. Sandip is a qualified Chartered and Cost Accountant and a commerce graduate from the Delhi University.
Being an ex-team member of the company, Loop Mobile said Sandip's return comes after acquiring a rich and diversified experience in several other telecom companies. He will be in charge to lead the national launch of Loop Telecom and further strengthen the position of Loop Mobile in Mumbai.
BPL Mobile underwent a brand name change exercise to Loop Mobile recently. It also successfully completed its Rs. 300 crore network upgradation.
Loop Mobile's unit Loop Telecom launched pan India operations under Loop Mobile in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Orissa and became the first amongst new GSM operators to have started operations in these four states.
