MCT to Offer Brilliant's Timing, Synchronization Solutions in Africa

Brilliant Telecommunications Inc., a supplier of next-generation network synchronization equipment and solutions, announced a Value Added Reseller agreement with MCT Telecom. Under this agreement, MCT will provide Brilliant's next-generation timing and synchronization solutions to communication providers in the African marketplace.
"MCT and Brilliant have joined forces to effectively address the needs of communication providers in deploying IP-based backhaul solutions for one of the fastest growing markets worldwide," said Mark Dewey, director of operations, MCT Telecom. MCT Telecom is an established business delivering telecom solutions in Africa. MCT supplies several leading mobile operators with advanced telecom equipment and professional services.
The growing trend for mobile operators to leverage the economic and technical benefits from packet-based mobile backhaul-combined with IEEE 1588-2008 synchronization solutions has led MCT to develop a comprehensive product and services portfolio based on solutions from Brilliant.
This portfolio encompasses next-generation Synchronization Supply Unit (SSU) equipment with embedded IEEE 1588 technology including grandmasters and clients as well as a network management platform.
