NTT Com Launches 'Easy Login' for HOTSPOT WLAN Service

NTT Communications Corp. has launched a simplified login procedure, called "Easy Login", for its HOTSPOT wireless local area network (WLAN) Internet access service in Japan.
WLAN devices equipped with a cookie-supported Web browser can now save the user's login ID and password for up to 14 days, thereby enabling fast Internet access without having to use a dedicated login tool.
HOTSPOT provides secure Internet access based on strict authentication that has slowed down the login procedure for some customers, particularly those using compact devices with small touch panels or keyboards.
In keeping with the Easy Login theme of simplicity, the company said the new login portal features a clean design.
Since launching its new iHOTSPOT login tool for the iPhone 3G and the iPod touch in November 2008, NTT Com has found that the service's simplified login has encouraged high usage. In response, the company decided to launch Easy Login for other devices.
Easy Login is available to customers of NTT Com's HOTSPOT, OPEN Plan, OPEN Plan Light and 1DAY PASSPORT service plans, as well as customers of affiliated Internet service providers.
