Optimus Technology and Telecommunications, a regional value added distributor (VAD) of IT and telecommunications products, has signed a distribution agreement with Opti-UPS, a manufacturer of UPS and power solutions products.

As per the terms of the contract, Optimus will distribute Opti-UPS across the Middle East and Africa region with exclusive distribution rights in Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

Meera Kaul, Managing Director, Optimus, said, "We are always looking for the latest and best technologies to bring to our region. The increasing build-up of data centers in the Middle East is providing a strong impetus for the power solutions business. This timely distribution agreement of Optimus with Opti-UPS will capitalize on both of our strengths and opportunities. While Opti-UPS already enjoys a high level of acceptance in the MENA markets, we will leverage our expertise and reach to build its channel across the region and hope to play a vital role in the emerging power solutions market. We look forward to working closely with Opti-UPS to increase their visibility and market share in this region."

Opti-UPS has an extensive range of products, which include standby, line-interactive and online UPS products besides stabilizers and surge busters that have gained the trust of worldwide customers. Additionally, it also offers devices that cater to specific segments such as UPS for gamers, enhanced series of workstations and PC users for both home and business users.

Kamlesh Kumar Amesur, Sales and Marketing Director-MENA, Opti-UPS, said, "We are pleased to appoint Optimus as our regional distributor based on their proven track record. Our partnership will help us meet local objectives to build channel partners across a range of verticals. The current emergence of regional turnkey data center projects is encouraging to our growth and we hope to support it with our range world-class products that are performance and price competitive."

Optimus will enhance Opti-UPS’ channel network in the territory by conducting focused channel development activities. This will include offering training and consultancy to partners and enabling them to sell solutions. The company will also offer value added services to its partners through Optimus 360°, which is suite of services across sales, marketing, pre and post sales support. In addition to the above services, Optimus Academy will offer training programs for and on behalf of Opti-UPS to enhance service capabilities of the partner network to address customer requirements.

The range of power products from Opti-UPS will complement the product lines Optimus already carries from leading brands including Avaya, Tandberg (which is now a part of Cisco), Netgear, Molex to name a few. With the addition of the power solutions products from Opti-UPS, Optimus’ enhanced suite of products offers channel partners an easy foot in the door to win customers orders in SME and enterprise verticals.

"We are certain that our partners will respond favorably to this latest addition in our portfolio. Our objective remains to build stronger and successful partners and help them become better prepared to tap emerging opportunities in IT infrastructure build-up across different customer segments by providing well chosen product portfolios," said Kaul.
