Responding to Demand, Edgewater Computer Systems Opens South American Office
GlobeNewswire
2010-09-09

OTTAWA, Sept. 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Edgewater Computer Systems,
Inc., a leading provider of advanced communications and networking
products, has responded to the tremendous demand for its EAP3000
multi-channel WiFi Access Point by opening an office in Sao Paulo,
Brazil. Edgewater's first international office will provide sales,
marketing and technical support for its channel partners and their
rapidly expanding customer base.

The EAP3000, with its innovative and industry leading three-channel,
802.11 compliant, radio architecture provides up to 50X increased
throughput versus traditional "single channel" access points addressing
the market's immediate demands for increased and affordable "bandwidth
density." With a flexible feature set, including Integrated Virtual
Channels that allows for up to 12 full featured SSIDs per radio,
Integrated Spectral Surveillance Architecture (SSA(TM)) to support
remote site survey and security capabilities and Intelligent Channel
Association (ICA(TM)) to effectively optimize network performance, the
EAP3000 empowers operators to offer unparalleled services and
performance demanded by their customers -- leading to higher ARPU while
eliminating costly "truck rolls."

For Wireless ISPs, struggling with capacity and throughput issues,
Edgewater's products address known pain points and offer the
flexibility needed to deliver highly differentiated services --
generating higher APRU than traditional WiFi access points. For mobile
operators under siege by data-hungry devices, such as Apple's(R)
iPhone(R), Edgewater offers a highly compelling solution for cellular
data off-load applications -- delivering 20x to 30x better performance
than traditional single channel access points and dramatically lower
OPEX.

"We're seeing a tremendous demand for our EAP3000 family of products
from BRIC markets and opening our Brazilian office is the best way to
support our customers and partners." according to Duane Anderson,
President of Edgewater. "The EAP3000 is viewed, and rightly so, as the
'next generation in WiFi.' We are pleased to be at the forefront of
this exciting technology."
