COTAS Deploys Rovi Passport Guide to Enrich the Discovery and
Management of Television Programming for Its Subscribers

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 19, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rovi Corporation
(Nasdaq:ROVI) today announced that COTAS (Cooperativa de
Telecomunicaciones de Santa Cruz), a leading service provider in
Bolivia, has deployed Rovi Passport(R) Guide to provide its digital
cable subscribers in the city of Santa Cruz with an enhanced television
viewing experience. Rovi has signed a multi-year licensing agreement
with COTAS for Passport Guide, marking distribution growth for the
company in Latin America.

Passport Guide boasts an intuitive and graphically-rich interface with
advanced search options that help COTAS subscribers quickly and easily

information about specific shows--and search for them by typing titles
into an on-screen keyboard with their remotes. In addition, Passport
Guide offers value-added features such as QuickMenu(TM), a configurable
menu which will enable COTAS subscribers to launch cable TV services
with a few clicks of the remote control.

"We are committed to providing our digital cable customers with
cutting-edge functionality that enables them to seamlessly access and
enjoy the TV and movie content that they love," said Adrian Vaca,
General Manager, COTAS Cable TV. "Rovi Passport Guide allows us to
offer our viewers innovative and easy-to-use features while also giving
us the flexibility we need to configure specific options for our
subscribers."

"With more and more program choices available on more channels to
today's television viewer, Passport Guide provides advanced sorting and
filtering features to help consumers easily find and manage their
television programming," said Bob Shallow, SVP of Worldwide Sales,
Service Providers. "We look forward to continuing to collaborate with
COTAS, and are pleased to add COTAS to our Latin America customer
