Yahoo! India Announces Enhanced Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! India has introduced a number of innovations on Yahoo! Mail, which the company said demonstrates its commitment to deliver personally relevant experiences to consumers.
"Your favorite email service now comes with additional social and productivity features. You can connect with friends and family, edit and share heavy files, right from you Yahoo! Mail inbox. These new innovations in email represents our intense focus on delivering superior, personally relevant consumer experiences online," said Arun Tadanki, Managing Director, Yahoo! India
The company said people can now do more, share more and stay better connected from their inbox, saving time and the need to visit multiple Web sites to get things done. The Yahoo! Mail enhancements are a key milestone in the Yahoo! Open Strategy, further extending social and open features to people worldwide.
New features include:
- More Social Features: Users can now take advantage of new social features to stay updated on what friends and family are sharing online, including the ability to view the most recent emails from contacts and receive birthday reminders.
- With an intuitive Yahoo! contacts solution, users can view updates across contacts when they change their name, email address or phone number.
- Increased Attachment Size: Yahoo! Mail will soon extend the attachment limit for files up to 25 MB (up from 10 MB)
- Email on mobile: Now it is easier for people to stay on top of their email with one-click access to check, compose and search email. Additionally, support for downloading attachments such as Microsoft Office documents, PDF files and photos has been added, as well as the ability to access personal folders. These enhancements will soon be accessible on over 400 devices with HTML browsers.
- Enhanced Photo Sharing: New multi-select and drag-and-drop functionality makes it easier to attach more photos to email, view thumbnail previews and rotate pictures.
