IT News Online Staff
Yahoo! India has launched Flickr Uploadr, a new feature that enables simpler, easier and faster upload of photographs on Flickr. The feature available for both Pro and Free users on Flickr, currently supports Firefox 8, Safari 5, or Chrome 6 browsers.
Easily preview and arrange photos:
The new Flickr Uploadr runs on an advanced HTML 5 browser technology that offers a unique experience of uploading photographs. Uploadr simplifies the process of adding photos by allowing a drag-and-drop. It shows preview thumbnails, so that users can use the intuitive drag and drop interface to manage and reorder photos before adding it to the Photostream. Photographs can be zoomed, rotated or sorted by title.
Share the story behind every photo:
It also allows users to add titles, descriptions, tags, and organize photos in different sets. Users can also change licensing, content type, and other advanced options right from the Uploadr page before publishing it to the Photostream.
Faster is Better:
The new Uploadr allows users to enjoy 20% to 30% faster speed of upload, than earlier.
File Sizes: Now Bigger:
Now users can easily save high-resolution images to Flickr and enjoy photos in pixel-perfect detail. Pro users can upload files up to 50 MB and Free users get up to 30 MB.
Flickr is a key component of Yahoo!'s overall product strategy and the photo-sharing site continues to develop rich experiences across multiple devices and platforms. It is committed to offer intuitive experiences with its redesign initiative.
The Flickr Uploadr is the third in the series of updates, which began with the Justified Layout launch and addition of the embedded photo editing tool by Aviary.
