Santa Clara, Calif., United States
:
Infoblox Inc. (NYSE:BLOX) today announced availability of the Infoblox Load
Balancer Manager, a new software module for Infoblox’s industry
leading automated network control platform.
With the new Infoblox Load
Balancer Manager, network administrators can centrally manage their
F5®
BIG-IP®
Global Traffic Manager™ (GTM) appliances from the same
intuitive management interface used to efficiently manage the Infoblox
infrastructure. Leveraging the new module can reduce the complexity,
risks, time and costs associated with administering F5 BIG-IP GTM
appliances. This offering delivers on Infoblox’s strategy to reduce IT
complexity and cost through automation of the tasks required to support
complex
computer networks.
Next generation data centers, virtualization, cloud and mobility are
driving up the size and complexity of global server load balancing
infrastructures. This is stretching enterprise IT teams’ task lists and
driving the need for more automated network control solutions. These
solutions can help IT teams scale by taking the burden of complex
network control and highly repetitive daily operational tasks out of
human hands.
Tracy Corbo, Principal Research Analyst at EMA says: “Today’s fast pace
environments require higher levels of efficiency to remain competitive.
Two key areas that can greatly improve the efficiency for IT
organizations are centralization and automation. Central management for
multiple areas of network operations reduces the need to run multiple
consoles. Automation accelerates repeatable IT tasks and reduces errors
often introduced by manual processes. The ongoing partnership between F5
and Infoblox provides tight integration that customers can take
advantage of to streamline their internal IT processes.”
A network engineer at a large medical device manufacturer that is an F5
and Infoblox customer commented: “On our first glance at the Infoblox
Load Balancer Manager, we can see real advantages of the single
management console; above all, it allows a reduction in the steps
required to manage our BIG-IP GTM devices. We like the ‘single pane’ of
visibility into both our DNS and global traffic infrastructures, as well
as the delegation capabilities that can be leveraged across geographies
and teams. We expect the added BIG-IP GTM management capabilities to
deliver tangible returns in time and cost reduction.”
“Infoblox has proven management capabilities that are a natural fit with
F5’s global traffic management systems,” says Calvin Rowland, VP
Technology & ISV Alliances at F5
Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV).
“The combination of our solutions can deliver enterprise customers
administrative and dramatic cost-savings advantages.”
Infoblox Load Balancer Manager Delivers Unique Management for F5
Environments
Infoblox pioneered the delivery of automated network control solutions,
including an appliance-based approach to deliver and manage essential
network services like domain name system (DNS) resolution and IP address
management. These are the services essential to connecting end users,
devices and computer networks.
Closely tied to enabling these connections is management of the
associated network traffic. F5 Networks, the global leader in
Application Delivery Networking (ADN) and global traffic management, is
leading the charge with its F5® BIG-IP®
GTM
appliances.
The Infoblox Load
Balancer Manager, an extension of Infoblox’s proven automation
capabilities, unique Infoblox Grid™ technology and intuitive user
interface, enables management of F5®
BIG-IP®
GTM ™ appliances, including:
-
Automated discovery of BIG-IP GTM configurations
-
“Single pane of glass” visibility into the BIG-IP GTM infrastructure
-
Delegated BIG-IP GTM infrastructure administration based on permissions
-
Configuration and synchronization across multiple BIG-IP GTM systems

“The new Infoblox Load Balancer Manager helps reduce repetitive tasks
that IT administrators have to frequently perform to access and manage
their critical network infrastructures through discreet management
consoles,” says David Gee, Infoblox Executive Vice President of
Marketing. “Extending Infoblox’s automation and management capabilities
to harness the powerful F5 global traffic management infrastructure
underscores Infoblox’s commitment to continue helping enterprise IT
departments transform and scale their complex networks.”
