Top 10 Finalists of 2012 Taiwan Excellence SmarTEST Gear Up for Stage Two Challenges

Asia’s largest and most rewarding online contest, the 2012 Taiwan Excellence SmarTEST! have announced their top 10 finalists, out of 36,337 registered participants from Indonesia, India, Vietnam, and China for the Stage One 24-hour Online Quiz at held on July 14, 2012 (www.2012smartest.com). These finalists are one step closer to the astounding cash & prizes incentive totaling US$100,000.
The top 10 elites from India are Rubal Singh from New Delhi, Asif Khan Yusufzai from New Delhi, Sahil Khanna from New Delhi, Gaurav Mittal from New Delhi, Nissar Ahmed from New Delhi, Mohsin Ahmed Batla from New Delhi , Vagisha Kochar from New Delhi, Tarun Miglani from New Delhi, Siddharth Mukund from Lucknow, and Susanta Saren from Jamshedpur. The average score of the top 100 in the 4 participating countries is 648 out of 1000, while India’s average is 808, far above the average.
Mr. Akif Khan Yusufzai from New Delhi, who completed the quiz in less than one hour said, “Ideally, the quiz seeks to encourage the growth and development of general knowledge as an important life skill among the techno geeks of our world. Mr. Siddharth Mukund, had participated in Taiwan Excellence’s IT Traveler Go campaign last year, has earned himself a position in the Top 10 again this year. He said to the SmarTEST! The 2012 Taiwan Excellence SmarTEST! is an annual big idea campaign organized by Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of Taiwan and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). 31 Taiwan Excellence home & living brands, such as Asus, D-Link, BenQ, Transcend, etc., also partnered up with TAITRA to join the SmarTEST!, offering an armful of Taiwan Excellence Award-winning products in Stage 2. Each of the top 10 finalists will soon receive an official parcel from the SmarTEST! Committee, which will equip them with Taiwan Excellence products and help get ready for Stage Two.
During the upcoming 8 challenges in Stage 2, these contestants only have a couple days to brainstorm and develop genuine, out-of-the-box, and impressive applications by making use of these products. These 10 finalists are allowed to call and gain supports from friends, colleagues, classmates, family, online networks, or even the advice from IT Travelers from last year. The contestants must videotape and upload their solution towards each challenge to the SmarTEST! website to impress and win the favor of supporters in India. Their performance will be scored based on the votes they receive from online followers, Taiwan brand partners, and the SmarTEST! Committee. The contestant with the lowest score will be eliminated at the end of each challenge. AXN eBuzz will also report on the top 10 winners of The SmarTEST! on August 10th, and update the elimination progress on a bi-weekly basis.
