Apple Cuts Price of iPod shuffle 1 GB in India, Launches 2 GB Model

Apple announced that it has reduced the price of the iPod shuffle 1 GB model in India to Rs. 2,300/-. The company has also introduced a new 2 GB model of the iPod shuffle for Rs. 3,200/-. The prices exclude local taxes.

The company said the iPod shuffle is an ideal gift for youngsters, they can use it to listen to music and podcasts, as well as fill it with audiobooks and make the experience educational and exciting.

"At just Rs. 2,300/-, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever," said E. Y. Yeo, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Apple Asia Pacific. "We've also introduced a new 2 GB model that lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle."

The iPod shuffle is fashionable and comes in four colors - silver, blue, green and purple. The iPod shuffle will keep one entertained for up to 12 hours of continuous audio playback. Users can take up to 240 songs on the 1 GB model or up to 500 songs on the 2 GB model everywhere they go. The iPod shuffle comes with a built-in clip.

"With most flash-memory music players, users must use tiny displays and complicated controls to find their music; with iPod shuffle you just relax and it serves up new combinations of your music every time you listen," added Yeo.

The iPod shuffle syncs seamlessly with iTunes. Just connect it to a Mac or PC and everything syncs in seconds. iTunes "Auto-fill" function allows the iPod shuffle to randomly select songs from one's music library and sync them. With a flip of a switch on the back of iPod shuffle, users can choose to listen to their music in order rather than shuffled.
