ASUS has launched the ASUS UX30 notebook in India. The company said its latest U Series notebook answers the question "form or function?" with the answer, "Why not both?"
While most thin and lightweight notebooks face the problem of scaled back functionality, ASUS said the new U Series, whose design was inspired by the butterfly, promises an exquisitely crafted, thin and lightweight notebook that takes away nothing in terms of functionality. The notebook's side profile resembles the wings of a butterfly in flight, and combined with its coherent design, the company said the result is a series of notebooks that are so much more than just gadgets.
Stanley Wu, Country Head - Notebooks and Eee Products Business, ASUS India, said, "The launch of ASUS UX30 Notebook marks the entry of ASUS in the Ultra Thin and Light Category notebooks in India. We sensed the need of the Indian consumer to obtain more stylish and sleek products that perform as well. With the ever changing customer preference, we at ASUS are sure that the UX30 will appeal to the style conscious audience."
The new ASUS UX30 features Intel ULV processors and Core 2 Duo processors that pack a power efficient punch. Promising better overall performance, this next generation processor offers power-optimized mobile processing, enhanced to handle today's demanding software applications. The UX30 has a satin-brushed aluminum exterior and conceals a wealth of connectivity ports in a slim and lightweight design that measures 1.96 cm in profile.
Despite being slim and lightweight, ASUS said the UX30 does not compromise on performance and user-centric features. It has an intuitive multi-touch touchpad that enables users to interact with their programs. Users can access a myriad of functions with motions such as sliding up and down, left and right, as well as up and down with two or three fingers simultaneously. It also features a chiclet keyboard, which provides users with wider gaps between keycaps to minimize errors. The ASUS IceCool design provides a palm-rest that has a lower-than-average temperature for prolonged computing hours in maximum comfort.
The ASUS UX30 features a 13.3-inch WXGA LCD display, which merges seamlessly with the lid to form a flushed surface that reflects contemporary styling and grace. An Intel GMA 4500MHD provides users with high definition visual enjoyment, while SRS Premium Sound brings surreal cinematic audio enjoyment to users wherever they go. The UX30 series also incorporates Express Gate, which allows users access to a host of commonly used applications such as instant messaging clients and a multimedia manager, as well as the Internet in just 8 seconds.
ASUS said every level of the U Series' design, from the thin and light profile to minor touches such as the shimmering glitters on the LCD lid, reflect the company's attention to detail. In all its form and functionality, the user has not been forgotten, as the series also incorporates a host of user-centric touches. The U Series is equipped with AI Light sensor technology, which adjusts the brightness of the screen, as well as the backlighting of both the illuminated keyboard and interactive touchpad, to ensure visual comfort and ease of use.
