ASUS Introduces My Cinema-U3000 TV Tuner Box

ASUS has introduced the My Cinema-U3000 digital TV tuner box that has the size of a clamshell mobile phone. The digital TV tuner box provides entertainment, including free digital TV, TimeShift functions, video editing, DVD burning and music playback.

Combined with the remote controller for channel surfing, USB 2.0 interface support and Windows XP and MCE (Media Center Edition) compatibility, the My Cinema-U3000 turns PCs and notebooks into entertainment centers.

"Our goal was to develop a product that merges multimedia and portability to bring entertainment to personal computing," said Kent Chien, Director of ASUS Multimedia Business. "The compact and lightweight My Cinema-U3000 is a one-of-a-kind solution that gives PC and notebook users the ability to watch digital TV, listen to music, record TV shows and more."

The My Cinema-U3000 comes equipped with the patch antenna that is retractable to save space. It requires no external antenna for digital TV signal reception. Also, the TV tuner is powered through the USB cable, so no standalone power adaptor is needed. With no power adaptor and external antenna needed, built-in TV demodulator with mobility functions and a lightweight, compact design, the My Cinema-U3000 is created to deliver digital entertainment on the go.

The built-in antenna enables PCs and notebooks to receive digital TV signal wirelessly. TimeShift functions further allow users to pause, rewind and fast forward live TV and provide preprogrammed recordings.

The My Cinema-U3000 is easy of use and lets users select various entertainment features and utilize their functions for digital TV, movies, music, video editing and DVD burning. A LED light further indicates signal strength for quick operation status recognition.
