KEYW Begins Commercial Testing of Project G
GlobeNewswire 2012-07-26
HANOVER, Md., July 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KEYW Corporation
(Nasdaq:KEYW) announces the installation of its new cyber awareness and
response platform, code named "Project G", in its first operational
network and the commencement of commercial testing in conjunction with
a select group of early adopter customers. This platform is a
derivation of technology and techniques used by KEYW in protecting some
of the most sensitive networks in the world.
"Because of our relationships and experience in solving Intelligence
Community (IC) problems, KEYW is being pulled down a 'horizontal path'
to leverage that experience and address new markets beyond the IC.
Project G is one such path," commented Leonard Moodispaw, CEO and
President of KEYW Corporation. "Today the networks in our nation's
military, government, and critical infrastructure are under constant
cyber assault. Project G brings a national security-grade solution to
counter this assault."
Project G is now ready to begin testing in the networks of a carefully
selected set of early adopter customers, each representing different
elements of our nation's critical infrastructure. The purpose of this
platform is to find, fix and finish malicious cyber threats within
customers' networks through the use of automated tools and continuous
updates to cyber threat profiles and alert levels.
Project G integrates and leverages existing cyber infrastructure and
investment through a modular, scalable, and flexible (open)
architecture. By fully incorporating existing tools and sensors into a
single common mesh of cyber activity, events, and alerts, Project G
creates a "cyber awareness" framework for enterprises of all sizes.
Project G will continue with early adopter engagements for cyber
services through the end of 2012. KEYW is currently working with the
early adopters in a technical analysis of each enterprise's environment
to determine specific vulnerabilities and unique requirements. This
phase (Cyber Analytics Assessment) identifies the tools and sensors
currently used by an enterprise as well as the policy framework for
cyber operations. KEYW uses this information to model an enterprise's
security baseline and compares it to a best practice national security
model. This information allows KEYW to integrate Project G with
existing tools and sensors, and to proactively identify and remediate
gaps and blind spots in the enterprise's cyber awareness. When fully
implemented, Project G maintains a continuous state of cyber awareness
from inside the enterprise, and automates the mitigation of cyber
threats (known and unknown) and malicious activity. General release of
this platform is scheduled to begin in early 2013.
