2007-06-14

Acer India has launched its Aspire 3680 series for the Indian market. The company said the Acer Aspire 3680 series is the lowest priced notebook from a major MNC vendor and is targeted at empowering the common man with complete computing technology at an affordable price.

The Acer Aspire 3680 series uses a Celeron M 430 (1.73 GHz) or above, for increased power and excellent performance. Featuring a 14.1" widescreen LCD, 256 MB of system memory and a Combo drive, the notebook runs on a Linux operating system.

The Aspire 3680 series will now be available at Rs. 19,999/- (excluding carry case & taxes). Acer said this breakthrough price is being achieved via a special limited period cash back offer of Rs. 2,500/- on purchases till 25th June 2007 or stocks last, whichever is earlier.

Acer said it has been a pioneer in opening up the notebook to the masses in India by consistently focusing on making technology affordable to the common man. The company was the first to break the sub 60K, 50K, 40K and 30K price barrier in India and continues its tradition of offering the best value for money product in the market by breaking the 20K price point and opening up the notebook to a completely new target customer.

S. Rajendran, GM - Sales and Marketing, Acer India, said, "The Acer Aspire 3680 series is part of Acer's initiative of 'making mobile computing more affordable' and a response to the demand for low cost and efficient notebooks. We have been following the market closely and have evaluated the requirements of the Indian consumer before tailoring such a product."

"The Acer Aspire 3680 series has all the specifications required to improve productivity of people working on the move and encourages them to graduate to notebooks from desktops. Acer is the first MNC to offer a fully loaded machine at this price point. With the Acer Aspire 3680 series, we have once again broken all barriers without compromising on features, a first in the industry," added Rajendran.

Acer today addresses all segments of the notebook market with a range of feature rich notebooks cutting across price spectrum ranging from Rs. 20,000 all the way up to to Rs. 1,00,000+ with its premium range of Ferrari branded notebooks.
